Outlaw country rocker and folkie Justin Townes Earle recently released an iTunes digital 45 of new single “Christchurch Woman” b/w a cover of the classic Bruce Springsteen ballad “Racing In The Street."
Justin Townes Earle strolled into LUNA music last September, composed and genial. He greeted fans and browsed the shop before performing these five songs. Although his day in our city soon turned ugly, his performance for Laundromatinee.com was soulful and personal, and his behavior towards the throng of people that came to see his in-store performance was appreciative and engaging.
Justin Townes Earle visited The Laundromatinee for the second time in his young career. This time we set up outside for three quick and painless songs - a new one, a great cover and one he's actually played for us before. It's ok though, we'll take anything he gives us.
Laundromatinee's first session with Justin Townes Earle
A throwback to days long past, Laundromatinee interviews Justin Townes Earle, son of Steve Earle. You're not going to find many twenty-five year-olds who can cop to having Roy Orbison's Only The Lonely as a ringtone. Of course, Justin has packed more than a little hard living into those twenty-five years, and he's distilled much of that into his music.
