State Bird brought their high-energy, genre-blending, 60s folk-flavored sing-a-longs in to record an MOKB SIRIUS Blog Radio/91.7 WEEM session with us early this year. Beginning as a collaboration between Coby Hartzler and Jered Riblet, the band has come a long way in the time between their 2007 Marching Through The Wilderness release and their sophomore album, Mostly Ghostly, which was released on February 26th through The Record Machine. They're more serious about the project and more focused, but they're definitely still having a great time. Since it's release the band has made a new four song EP, featured below, available for free as well this year, proving that continued dedication to the project. In today's fast-paced, internet era, the best thing a young band can do is stay busy , tour like crazy and, of course, make good music. State Bird is proving they can shoulder the load.
