There are sizeable hills in Cincinnati, so it makes a just enough sense when the three members of Buffalo Killers, brothers Andrew and Zachary Gabbard and drummer Joseph Sebaali, are described as "Mountain Men".  Of course their burly builds, incredibly bearded faces and complete mastery of the classic sounds of late 60s/70s southern rock are more likely the best reason for such a title.  They are certainly revivalists, but  their brand of velvety smooth psych-rock, filled with blues-heavy guitar and thundering drums, melds with a modern flair or at least an authenticism and honesty that keeps such heavily trodded ground still very fresh.

The band continues a steady assent towards widespread noteriety.  In 2007 they drew the attention of Chris Robinson who invited them open a string of dates for his band, which also consists of a pair of brothers, The Black Crowes.  While on the road, they wrote the majority of what would become Let It Ride, their 2008 release which was produced by Dan Auerbach of The Black Keys.  

Buffalo Killers are bringing back a "classic" sound for this new millenium.  No gimmicks, just good ol' American rock.  As Luftmensch's father would say, "Good music.  Good music."
