During the middle of last year, Chairlift joined the prestigeous ranks of Feist, CSS, and The Ting Ting's, among a few less impressive others, to immediately garner a larger audience by having a song featured in a iPod commericial. Shortly after Bruises started infecting the American consciousness, the Brooklyn via Boulder, CO band's debut album, Does You Inspire You, initially released on Kanine Records, was snatched up by major label, Columbia Records and re-released this year. Since that whirlwind of buzz generated from the commercial, they have been touring relentlessly makeing sure that everyone knows that their debut album offers much more than the simple beauty of Bruises. Does You Inspire You's sound fits in very well with the pych-synth pop that has been invading everyone's ears over the past couple of years. Caroline Polachek's vocal stylings have drawn comparison's to everyone from Nico to more recent contemporaries such as, PJ Harvey and Karin Dreijer Andersson of The Knife.
This Spring, Chairlift stopped by The Laundromatinee, while performing opening duties on tour with Peter, Bjorn & John. The group performed three tracks from their dreamy debut album.
