Video Session : Drummer

Drummer solved the age old riddle of “what would happen if you took five drummers and put them in a band?” Apparently, the answer is some pretty great indie rock. Looking at the membership, this should come as no surprise. Patrick Carney (The Black Keys), Jamie Stillman (Teeth of the Hydra), Jon Finley (Party of Helicopters), Steve Clements (Houseguest), and Gregory Boyd (Ghostman & Sandman) are all accomplished musicians from various parts of Ohio and stand out in their respective music scenes. While Drummer’s sound may not be as rhythmic as one might assume, they demonstrate great instrumentation, proving that this is more than just a band of drummers. Their music is well crafted, full of energy, and all about “feeling good."

The four featured videos all contain tracks off Drummer’s album Feel Good Together. The album received positive feedback for the most part, most notably, a 7.5 rating from Pitchfork Media. Drummer’s raw, yet melodious sound translates well from album to live performance, as there is little difference between the quality of sound on the album and the quality of sound in our videos. This unpolished aesthetic, along with their playful creativity and easing going attitude, make them a pleasure to listen to and watch. They are definitely a band you need to see live.
