Here We Go Magic released their self-titled debut this past February through Western Vinyl Records. This band project, the latest from Luke Temple, is currently on tour supporting Grizzly Bear, arguably the hottest indie band around these days. So, levels of exposure continue to rise for Temple and his cohorts. On his own, Luke Temple garnered praise but remained in a world of low priority-given folk music. He had respect but lacked heat, you might say. This new full band sound - pulsing, looping, reverb-laden, hypnotic avant-pop/psychedelia - has brought him to the forefront of the indie music/blog world rather quickly. The songs are timely and seem to easily fit in with contemporaries like No Age and Deerhunter, but there is a greater softness - more beauty and more emotion.
HWGM was one of the hotter acts at this year's SXSW and have received solid critical praise from most major indie music-focused media outlets. When they stopped by The Pop Machine studio to record with Laundromatinee.com, they shared two cuts from the new album as well as an unreleased song.
