Video Session: Kurt Vile (Part Two)

This is the second part of a six-song, solo in-store set Kurt Vile performed at LUNA Music Midtown in Indianapolis late in 2010.  Vile was out on tour, in support of his latest Matador Records 7" release In My Time, with his band The Violators as well as San Diego's The Soft Pack and fellow Philadelphians Purling Hiss.

Vile is a prolific singer/songwriter who creates songs with a grungy, lo-fi, bedroom-reverb-heavy stoner vibe.  Vile reveals a wide range of influence in his music.  He'll often keep things in a minimalist folk/blues solo acoustic vein while channelling 70s-era classic rock influences like Bruce Springsteen and Tom Petty or even early indie rock-era trendsetters like Pavement and Sonic Youth.

Kurt Vile will release his latest full-length, Smoke Ring For My Halo, through Matador Records in March.
